Before founding Transition Management Services, Inc. (TMS), Andrés Pagán was a Vice-President in charge of local operations with two international Human Resources consulting firms specializing in Career Transition and Managing Change. Andrés also served as Human Resources Director at Searle & Co. in Caguas, Puerto Rico for the previous ten (10) years. There he was extensively involved in the development of organizational effectiveness strategies. His business background also includes manufacturing firms such as Applied Magnetics and Avon-Mirabella, and Banco Popular de Puerto Rico.
Andrés is a graduate of InterAmerican University where he majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. He also has Master level studies in the areas of Industrial and Interpersonal Relations and Personnel Psychology. Continuous Education has helped Andrés to focus on his current primary role: Helping the human element, individually and through organizations in the process of evolution and transition. He is well versed in using psychological instruments, such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, for Industrial/Organizational purposes.
Through out his career Andrés has been extensively involved in professional volunteer work. He has held many elective positions in Puerto Rico's Society for Human Resource Management Chapter, highlighted by his selection to preside the Executive Committee in 1990, and direct the State Council during 1995 and 1996. Andrés has also served as the Education Advocate for SHRM's Area II Board of Directors.
He was initially certified in his profession in 1978 and has held the certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Andrés has been quoted in local newspaper and magazines and has also made speaking engagements at local Human Resources forums. He is a strong supporter of the Human Resource Student Chapters at the local universities.

Carmen Ana Rivera,

For over twenty years, Carmen Ana held significant operations management positions with the Pharmaceutical Industry. She began her career as a Chemist upon graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico. Her career path led her to assume positions of increasing responsibilities such as Chemical Technologist, Chemical Laboratory Supervisor, Chemical Operations Manager, Pharmaceutical Packaging Manager, and Manufacturing Systems Manager. This last assignment for Carmen led her to explore all operations and service areas in reengineering and culture change process from a traditional structure to as team-based, cell structured organization.
Her initial participation in change processes was directing a Just-in-Time (JIT) Team, which was chartered with the responsibility for streamlining production and materials management processes utilizing Japanese techniques such as Kaizen and Kanban. Carmen was then given the responsibility for developing the implementation and installation of an MRP II system to provide the support to the organization's complex operations. She led a design team through the process of selecting hardware, software, and process design/configurations ensuring the input of all organizational areas affected by the system. Today, this system is an essential operational element at the Searle & Co. organization (her former employer). Carmen also participated in the development of the structures for inter and intra disciplinary work teams in the organization, and facilitated many of the initial work processes.

Margarita Flores, SPHR
Human Resources Consultant
For over twenty (20) years, Margarita Flores, SPHR, has dedicated her professional life to managing the human resources elements in organizations. She began her career as a Human Resources Representative with B-D Catheters Corp. in Canóvanas, and most recently was employed as the Human Resources Director at Wyeth Pharmaceutical Company - OTC Operations in Guayama. In between Margarita worked for Productos de Control Corox in Ceiba and Bard Cardiosurgery in Las Piedras, heading the Human Resources function at both of these organizations.
Throughout her career Margarita has focused on making a business partner out of the Human Resource function in the organization. Besides being overly successful in her professional endeavors within the organizations that she has worked for, Margarita has also taken time to work as a volunteer leader with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) - Puerto Rico Chapter. She has held numerous positions including having been elected by Chapter members as President of the Executive Committee in 1987 and as State Council Director in 1997 and 1998.
Margarita holds a Master Degree in Public Administration with a major in Management from the University of Puerto Rico, as well as a Bachelor in Arts with a concentration in Psychology from the same university.
"The Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) of SHRM has certified her as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since 1990."
This is the highest level of certification provided by SHRM to its members. She has also been associated for many years with Labor Relations Practitioners, a local professional organization devoted to promoting excellence in labor relations.
