Proven experience in the area of Safety, Security and Occupational Health in the Petrochemical Industry. Significant experience in dealing with Regulatory and Government Agencies such as:  OSHA, PROSHA, EPA, EQB, ARPE, and others.  My strengths include the ability to work as a team member, with a minimum of supervision, under pressure and oriented to meet quality goals and objectives with the willingness to train others.  Skills include: Specialist in Hazard Communications, Inspection and Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers, Inspection and Maintenance of Respiratory Equipment.  Experience in administering the Respiratory Protection Equipment Program, Fire Sprinkler System, and Safety Statistics for an organization duly recognized for its outstanding recordkeeping by the regulatory agencies. Fully bilingual (English and Spanish); computer literate and adaptable (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Works and Lotus) and technical writing skills.

·         Monitor employees’ exposition to chemical substances and noise.

Safety and Equipment Inspector                                            1976-1981

·         Inspect pressure vessels, tanks and other process equipment. Issue hot work permits especially those to enter into confined working areas.

Chemical Operator                                                                 1968-1976

·         Responsible for the operations of the assigned process units.

 

Achievements

q       Selected to participate in external audits of other Phillips subsidiaries, and to develop procedures to comply with applicable regulatory agencies.

q       Participated and trained fire brigades and emergency response teams to combat hazardous chemical spills.

q       Developed, implemented, and maintained an Industrial Hygiene Program including the use of personal protective equipment in the petrochemical industry for a period of 15 years.

q       Participated as an active member in the team of professionals that achieved the CEMIT Award of OSHO (Programa Voluntarios de Protección de la Oficina de Salud y Seguridad Ocupacional).
